Keeping a tight, light schedule this year. Only attending the San Diego Comic Con (July) and the New York Comic Con (Oct) for now. There's a chance for an appearance at GamesCon in August but that is still tentative.
Acclaimed comic book illustrator Jim Lee is the creative director of WildStorm Studios (which he founded in 1992) and the penciller for many of DC Comics' bestselling comic book and graphic novels, including All Star Batman and Robin, The Boy Wonder, "Batman: Hush," and "Superman: For Tomorrow." He also serves as the executive creative director for the DC Universe Online videogame. In his spare time, Jim enjoys a good laugh or two.
It has always been a fan boy dream of mine to see a team up of The Shadow and The Rocketeer !!!! I always thought it would make for a wonderful interesting team up like a reverse Batman and Superman, where Batman had powers and Superman had none just a guy with a rocket. I was wondering how much would a cover art piece cost? I dream of it having The Shadow on a 1930's building fire escape cape flapping guns drawn and The Rocketeer flying just above him with his Mauser C96 in hand. PLEASE CONTACT ME I'M VERY SERIOUS ABOUT WANTING THIS!!! I love your work and would love to have this piece done by you . I won't be at comic con this year so this doesn't have to be soon all good things are worth waiting for.
Just a quick congrats on your work so far on the New DC universe.I was pretty negative about what you had planned, BUT thanks for proving me wrong.Iv been reading comics for the last 30 years and this has proven the most fun for DC since what they did with their characters post the original CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS.
I rarely pick up comics that are not drawn by you. Your stye is beautiful and I genuinely appreciate that you are one of the few comic artists who illustrate women just as strong and serious as the men you draw. <3 <3
Hi Jim, Your art is great. Here's my new idea for an Elseworlds series: The World's Greatest Detective The Joker Issue #1 opens in a crime scene in a high rise penthouse apt. An elderly man and woman are chained to the wall. A bunch of Gotham's finest investigate when the Joker swings in on a line of handkerchiefs. Commissioner Barbara Gordon informs him that the Bat and his henchmen/women have struck again. The Joker picks up a piece of bubblegum off the floor. One of the cops asks if he should cut the couple down and bring in a blowtorch. Joker says, 'Allow me,' and raises his sleeve when 'ktang' it malfunctions and cards spew into the air. He grabs two w/one hand and throws them, cutting the chains. 'Damn this made in China crap. I'll be in touch commissioner,' as he jumps out of the aprt with his hankies. Gordon and cops laugh as he swings away. 'You always leave us laughing, Joker.' Issue #2 The Joker has a run-in w/Lady Shiva and the ninja Assassins as they try to eliminate retired Commissioner James Gordon. The Joker is visiting his old friend for some advice when they're attacked. Gordon was the police chief when Thomas and Martha Wayne were gunned down in Crime Alley. Issue #3 The Joker has learned that Bruce Wayne is the Batman. The League of Assassins is hunting down the people responsible for the decay of Gotham. The Joker has infiltrated a birthday party for Bruce and Talia's 10 year old son. While making balloon animals w hidden micro-cameras he discovers the bat cave. Issue #4 opens w/a conversation between Joker and Superman. Superman warns Joker not to go in alone but the Batman has JL-proofed his cave w/red solar radiation, a chunk of kryptonite, fire cannons for Martian Manhunter and other methods to keep the JL out. During the fight in the cave the Joker almost beats the Bat with his array of hand buzzers, cards and exploding balloons when an explosion nearly collapses a cave wall on Robin, his son. Joker uses the springs in his boots and gloves to save him as the rocks fall on Joker. He wakes up in the hospital and the Waynes visit. Talia kisses Joker who is wrapped up in a body cast and leaves with Thomas who has a broken wrist. Bruce says, 'I came to tell you two things. Thank you for saving my son. And if you ever get in my way again I'll kill you.' Joker's thought box: 'I answer with the one bone in my body not broken.' He gives Bruce Wayne the finger in a cast. 'My funny bone.' The World's Greatest Detective The Joker Epilogue. The Joker answers the Sock and Bushkin images in the night sky and pops up in a crime scene, leg, arm and neck in casts. Barbara Gordon explains Wayne manor has been sacked and emptied and the cave stripped bare of computers and equipment. There is no trace of the Waynes in the country. She shows him some mud residue and the Joker says, 'Looks like Clayface is back and is losing his tenacity.' Barbara: 'Are you sure you don't want to sit this one out? Your bones are still healing.' Joker: 'You know the saying Commish,' as he sproings and the casts fly off. Joker takes a length of hankies out of his jacket pocket. Merkel: 'Saying?' Barbara: 'The show must go on.' The Joker swings away laughing on his handkerchiefs into the night under the faces of comedy and tragedy. Thanks for reading!
I wish Jim would host some chat rooms,...I bet people are dying to talk with him. If you ever hosted one, I think the server would break from everyone trying to pile up into one chat room at one time...
